A special session on Antioxidants, Redox Homeostasis and Skin will be held on the first day of the Antioxidants World Congress 2015.
Dr Marrot will present the protection of skin against acute oxidative stress thanks to NRF2 Activation by resveratrol htrough glutathione mobilization.
"As an adaptive process to skin exposure to oxidative stress, activation of Nrf2 pathway stimulates endogenous antioxidant defense pathways in epidermis. An extensive study was performed on normal human keratinocytes (NHK) and full thickness reconstructed human skin showing that resveratrol activated Nrf2 pathway at nontoxic doses. These experiments demonstrated the beneficial effects of resveratrol, by up regulation of Nrf2 antioxidant response"
