Impact of Dietary Fructose on Brain Mitochondria and Oxidative Stress
Dr. Luisa Cigliano from University of Naples Federico II, Italy will give a major talk entitled "Impact of Dietary Fructose on Brain Mitochondria and Oxidative Stress".
Dr. Cigliano will discuss the brain effects resulting from fructose consumption and their persistence or rescue after the sugar removal from the diet. In fact, an important aim of her study was to verify whether fructose-induced alterations in hippocampus and frontal cortex can be rescued after switching to a healthy diet.
