The Winners of the Best Poster Presentation Awards - Paris Redox 2021 Are:
Nd-13, a Jd-1 Derived Peptide, as a Novel Pharmacological Approach to Prevent Renal Inflammasome Activation under Pro-Oxidant Conditions, Santiago Cuevas, Biomedical Research Institute of Murcia, Spain
"We hope that next year we will be able to present the results of ND-13, a new antioxidant pharmacological approach designed from the amino acid sequence of DJ-1, to attenuate inflammasome activation, inflammation, and renal fibrosis in Diabetic Nephropathy. The study is currently being performed in animal models and immune cells cultivated in the laboratory and extracted from the blood of patients with diabetes Nephropathy."
Blood Plasma’s Protective Ability against the Degradation of S-Nitrosoglutathione Under the Influence of Air-Pollution-Derived Metal Ions in Patients with Exacerbation of Heart Failure and Coronary Artery Disease, Anna Wądołek, Jagiellonian University, Poland
"In the perspective of next year, I am defending my doctoral dissertation devoted to the influence of air pollution on the deregulation of s-nitrosylation processes in the context of the generation of cardiovascular diseases. Then I intend to continue clinical research on the development of civilization diseases."
Inhibition of Mitochondrial Metabolism Leads to Selective Eradication of Cells Adapted to Acidic Microenvironment, Jaroslav Zelenka, University of Chemistry and Technology, Czech Republic
Concerning Mr. Zelenka's perspective on the subject, he revealed that "We are investigating the beneficial effects of peroral lactate in obese mice with metabolic syndrome."
