Non-invasive detection of oxidative-stress biomarkers in exhaled air – an overview
During Paris Redox Congress 2018, Dr Guillaume Suarez, Head of Environmental Engineering group at Institut universitaire romand de Santé au Travail in Lausanne, Switzerland will focus his presentation on evaluating the analytical/technical aspects of the current systems and future perspectives in the field. Oxidative stress plays a key role in many respiratory diseases linked to inflammatory physiological processes (e.g. COPD, asthma). The prevalence of respiratory disorders is associated to environmental and occupational exposure issues and stress the needs for non-invasive systems able to detect oxidative stress biomarkers. From electrochemical sensors to photonic biosensors several sensing strategies enable oxidative stress biomarkers detection directly in the exhaled air.
We remind you that Dr Suarez is one of the winner of Paris Redox 2017 award, for his oral presentation (more information here).
